Yoga Instructor
Antonette Phelps
Antonette has been teaching yoga for 12 years and is passionate about helping people use movement to build strength, improve mobility, and feel better in their bodies.
Her own yoga practice began while training for the Chicago Marathon, when she added yoga to her weekly routine for recovery. She quickly discovered how much it complemented her training—helping her build strength, improve flexibility, focus her mind, and continue progressing as a runner.
Antonette completed her yoga teacher training through CorePower Yoga in Chicago and is also certified in prenatal and postnatal yoga through Global Yoga. She teaches a variety of styles, with Vinyasa and Power Yoga among her favorites, and welcomes students at every experience level.
Her approach is centered on meeting people where they are. Antonette encourages each person to move at their own pace, learn what works for their body, and continue developing their practice over time.
Outside of the gym, Antonette is a former Michigan State University cheerleader who also had the opportunity to cheer for the Detroit Pistons during a playoff season. She lives in Royal Oak with her husband and three boys and spends plenty of time cheering them on from the sidelines.
“Yoga is for every body. There’s no one right way to practice—meet yourself where you are and build from there.”
